The Humanities Research Fellowship for the Study of the Arab World program invites faculty and research fellows to join its monthly reading seminar.
Reading Seminar | 12-1:30pm in-person (NYUAD campus)
The reading seminar invites HRF fellows and NYUAD faculty to discuss a shared set of readings that relate to 1) the framing, challenges, and affordances of area studies (the conceptualization of “Arab Crossroads” or even “Global Crossroads” Studies, in particular); 2) new research on the Arab Gulf; and 3) new works of broader significance.
This semester, the reading seminar will take place over lunch and will include:
March 26 | Art Capital: Museum Politics and the Making of the Louvre Abu Dhabi (Beth Derderian)
*All texts are available as e-books through the NYUAD Library (see here).
Conveners: Maya Kesrouany and Erin Pettigrew
The reading seminar is open to the NYUAD community and by invitation. Register below.
